Need an answer to a burning question? You've come to the write (or right) place!
Where can I buy your artwork? I sell my original paintings and prints through my studio and occasionally on Ebay (heather dakota is always in the title). You can also find me at art festivals in the Orlando area. Become a fan on Facebook, and you'll get the inside scoop on what's going on with me and see my new artwork first.
Can I commission you to do a piece of artwork for me?Absolutely! I'd love to do a special piece just for you. I take commissions on all of my artwork. Commissioned pieces tend to take about six weeks depending on the size, the complexity, and my other projects. Email me, and we can discuss what you would like me to do for you and a good timeline for both of us. If you want more information about my commissions, you can go to my studio and read about it.
I'd love one of your paintings, but would you be able to change colors for me? You bet! Changing colors or making your piece special is what I'm here for. Email me and we'll discuss how I can make a piece that you like even more special. When you email, I'll need the name of the piece you like, the size you want, and what you want the new piece to look like.
Can I find your artwork in galleries? No. I have decided to go a non-traditional route with my artwork. My art is not in any galleries. I like dealing directly with my clients. I participate in a few art festivals in the Orlando area. When asked, I will show my work at art shows and limited engagement gallery shows. I've even done a few shows in client's homes. You can find out when a show is coming up by joining my Facebook fan page.
How much are your original paintings? Prices depend on the size and complexity of the painting. My Artist Trading Cards start things off at $10 each.
Do you accept credit cards? Yes, I do, through PayPal.
Do you have layaway plans? I sure do. If there is a special piece that you absolutely must have, we can set up a layaway plan that works for you and your budget. I do require 1/3 down (nonrefundable) to show that you're committed to the purchase.
Why did you start painting? I started painting when I was about 3 years old. Truthfully, I can't help myself. I've tried to put down the brush and I can't. It should have been permanently attached at birth. I've tried other mediums (photography, fiber art, jewelry, knitting), and I always come back to painting. However, it took me many years to find my style. Now, I paint to make people happy and give them a little smile.
Tell me more about Hope-full Hearts? It has always been important to me to give back to the community and to take care of the Earth. I've been looking for a way to give back for a long time. It had to be art-related and mean something to me and you. It's been a puzzler. One night at 2:00 in the morning, I woke up with a start and a big smile on my face. The puzzle was solved and I had my answer in Hope-full Hearts. The hearts are Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) with acrylics, beads, and rhinestones. I put them together as the creative spirits move me. The idea behind them is to give you a big smile, because the heart speaks to you. And you'll know that your heart purchase is doing some good in the world. It's art with heart!
Do you create other kinds of art? Nope. I think this is enough. Don't you?:) I have so many thoughts and ideas that I need to keep my life and artwork as simple as possible. Or I might explode! lol
What are ATCs? ATCs (or Artist Trading Cards) are 2.5 x 3.5 -inch cards with either original artwork or a print on them. They are traded within the artist community or sold to patrons. It is an easy and inexpensive way to collect an artist's work. All of my ATCs are original sketches. They are what I use to work out colors and design before I put the painting on canvas.
Do you have a newsletter for your artwork? Yes. I do. The sign up link for the newsletter is below. It comes out 4 times a year, and has the 411 on what I've been up to in the studio. If you want even more information, become a fan on Facebook! I update everyday on events and happenings.
